More than ever I feel the need of having Thee close to me.
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” I will all the more gladly boast of my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

Sic transit gloria mundi
Fr Tim Finigan posted recently on his proposed trip to Rome and how the cry would go up, uttered by a Franciscan at the coronation of a Pope, "Sic transit gloria mundi" which some folk believe translates as "Thus passes the glory of the world". But, as every schoolboy knows, the real translation is: "My girlfriend was ill in the campervan at the start of the week"
