“The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who, in time of great moral crisis, maintain their neutrality”
Alighieri Dante
Also....a true story from the early 70s
In the aftermath of Vatican II, it was customary for parish priests to call their flock together in order to explain the new Mass in the vernacular and other elements such as the role of the parishpresidium council and lay readers.
After such a gathering in a Somerset parish hall, the organisers collected up the briefing papers that had been left behind.
On the chair previously occupied by an elderly woman who had sat apart from the rest of the flock was found her programme with the following words written across it:
"CHRIST SAID 'FEED MY SHEEP,' NOT AMUSE MY GOATS!"
