Ready and waiting....but not holding their breath |
More than ever I feel the need of having Thee close to me. “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” I will all the more gladly boast of my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities; for when I am weak, then I am strong. Corinthians 12:7-10
Ready and waiting....but not holding their breath |
Now that would really be a genuine act of humility not just the formal ritual one.
ReplyDeleteBut I guess it will never happen. Just like admitting the whole Novus Ordo experiment is a failure due to lack of tradition and continuity from the past. . .
the bishop of rome ought to -but he won't.they are far too catholic for his sensibilities!pray that this whole vatican ii novus ordo experiment will end and the mystical body of christ will reign again.four hundred years of the tridentine mass gone in the melee of the sixties.god help us.god bless .philip johnson.
ReplyDeleteThis is a good point.
ReplyDelete... at a traditional Mass.
ReplyDeleteFrom your blog to God's ears.
ReplyDeleteNo, it's easier washing prisoners feet...
ReplyDeleteHe can be humble and wash 10,000 pairs of feet any place at any time, but not on Maundy Thursday. That day is reserved for commemoration of two sacraments - the Holy Eucharist and the priesthood. The washing of feet symbolizes the call to the priesthood. The Holy Father continues to abuse the Liturgy. Sad.
ReplyDeleteHe could also assist Cardinal Burke at a Latin Mass to learn how is done right - as an act of humility of course O well!?!? Just dreaming!
ReplyDeletePut this on hisTwitter account, but he may think you are being fashionable !!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THIS IDEA!!!! Too bad the chance of him doing so is SLIM TO NONE! It would be a truly HUMBLE act. Last year that drew so much attention, doubt if wants to lose that this year. It seems to me, he craves attention first over being humble.
ReplyDeletePerhaps you'd find it more amenable for Francis to appear in red Prada, ermine, liturgical gloves / gauntlets, a camauro, cappa magna, farraiolo, simar, and last but certainly not least, a triregno. What else would Jesus wear to wash the feet of his apostles?
ReplyDeleteLWC, absolutely, as long as it was not a buddha outfit.
DeleteRichard, agreed--this cap is hard to wear anyway and these winglets chafe my shoulders.
DeleteA happy Easter to you and yours Wayne.
DeleteAbsolutely, Richard! Thanks. Happy Easter!
