There's got to have been a terrible mistake.....

.......It's happened again, the unthinkable! My name has not appeared on the Queen's Birthday Honours list, not even a measly MBE! Chizzle! Not that I particularly yearn for the lollipop man's award.

My only consolation is that, having scanned the small print of the names of those who have been honoured, the names Ivereigh, De Valero, Stannard, O'Donnell, Longley and Curry are also missing. Phew!

  1. Well Brucie had to wait quiet a while so there's still hope.......how's your ballroom dancin' these days??? Anne Widdecombe gained popularity with her stint. You need to be in the public eye more Richard!

  2. Now you know very well they don't award medals to the awkward squad.
But I wouldn't mind betting some of those mentioned are in line for a Papal medal.

  3. I'd take a papal knighthood over a KG or OBE ... but then, I'm a Yank, and the Constitution demands we pretend Americans accept no such honors. (Though there's a painting in the Pentagon of Gen. Eisenhower being knighted.)

  4. Oh, Richard...I thought my invite was the only one lost in the mail. And I bought a new hat and Mum a gift...I was so hoping for a new "Title" like Prince Philip...oh, well, there's always next year. N
