What are a woman's choices?

                                                     Abortion Clincs in the UK
Generally, I find the copy and phrases used on the websites of organisations offering abortion treatment to be euphemistic, bland and comforting and aiming the woman in one direction only - the final solution a la Adolf Hitler.

They are, of course, intended for that purpose.

So when a website such as that belonging to the Marie Stopes organisation lists options, one might be lulled into thinking that they are going to give women seeking counselling, some even handed advice.

Perhaps they genuinely are offering alternatives to abortion; keeping the baby (sorry, foetus).

But, it is, I'm afraid all show and no substance; read this extract from their booklet on Abortion....

OK, so points one and two look interesting......presumably, Marie Stopes advisors will offer referral to support organisations such as adoption societies or welfare support groups....yes?

Maybe, even, referral to SPUC or 40 Days for Life....yes?

No. No on both counts.

The literature just goes on to speak about abortion options, how easy it is, how so very simple to kill a life.

No mention of other real options; it's all a facade designed to lead women down the very short path to death in the womb.

And no reference is made to the legal requirements for abortion procedures.

Surely, that means that, if counselling is given that leads directly to an abortion in breach of British law, the organisation and its 'nurses' are guilty of breaking the law?

That then means that David Cameron's mob of Tories and high principled Lib Dems will be out to ensure that all breaches of the country's laws are implemented and the guilty brought to justice.

Ha! Ha, ha, ha. Time to stuff handkerchief in mouth and roll on carpet drumming  floor with clenched fists.

  2. Dear Richard,

I am against Abortion, but what about a Muslim girl who falls pregnant out of wed lock and would potentially be killed by her brothers or her father, then two lives are lost. I think we must be careful with being so forthcoming with our opinions and realising that we all commit terrible sins when placed into terrible situations. The way to stop abortions is celibacy or contraception. Celibacy is not going to happen - so it has to be contraception. If it saves lives then - why not! Educate people on the importance of contraception and speak to them about how awful having an abortion is.

    Best Wishes,
    Harriet.

    1. Good morning Harriet!

I understand your compassion for these situations - and people who would act like this really do need many many prayers. However, the Catholic Church's position is this (from the Catechism):

"2271 Since the first century the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law:

You shall not kill the embryo by abortion and shall not cause the newborn to perish.75
God, the Lord of life, has entrusted to men the noble mission of safeguarding life, and men must carry it out in a manner worthy of themselves. Life must be protected with the utmost care from the moment of conception: abortion and infanticide are abominable crimes.76"

If abortions are a result from out-of-wedlock relations, than the answer would be not having out-of-wedlock relations. Humans are not animals who mate just because it's the optimal time of the month. We were granted free will by God and thus have the choice to give into our passions or not.

Contraception does not save lives....it unfortunately can end them before the mother even knows she is pregnant. By not allowing a woman's body to welcome the fertilized egg, the baby is flushed out of the womb before it can even take hold to grow. Most contraception methods are abortifacients and kill children silently.

The answer to this epidemic is purity and living a pure lifestyle. If a child is not wanted, then what makes children does not need to be participated in. Every action has a consequence (good or bad) and we must be always ready to accept every consequence of each action.

      God bless,

      Chloe M.
