More than ever I feel the need of having Thee close to me.
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” I will all the more gladly boast of my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

A good Christmas gift
Hand made by my youngest daughter; a small piece of artwork on canvas that looks as if it was an altar stone from medieval times - God bless her!
Lovely! And the altarstone idea is appropriate. As I am sure you know an altarstone is marked with five crosses which recall the Five Wounds- an image taken up by the heroes of the Pilgrimage of Grace and, subsequently by the English recusant community as commemorated, so I am told, in the song "Green Grow the Rushes O!" "Five is for the symbols at your door". Clearly a link with "linen on the hedgerow"!
A beautiful gift from a girl who loves her Dad.
ReplyDeleteGenty - thankfully, yes.
