I am somewhat baffled by Pope Francis talking about baptising martians as I do remember reading some years ago that a spokesman for the Vatican said that aliens such as little green men would not need to be baptised as they could well have come from a planet where the inhabitants had not inherited original sin and could be perfect beings in spite of their difference in appearance to us humans.
